Mae
Cofeb Ryfel Eglwyswrw bellach wedi'i hymestyn i gynnwys
pedwar enw arall. Bu farw tri o’r dynion hyn ar ôl
i’r rhyfel ddod i ben, ond roedd eu marwolaethau oherwydd
anafiadau neu salwch yn ymwneud â’u gwasanaeth milwrol
yn ystod y rhyfel ac mae hyn bellach yn cael ei gydnabod gan
Gomisiwn Beddau Rhyfel y Gymanwlad
(CWGC).
Talwyd am y gwaith o gronfa a godwyd i osod Sedd Goffa ger y
Gofeb Ryfel ger Eglwys Sant Cristiolus, Eglwyswrw i nodi canmlwyddiant
diwedd y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf. Bu y prosiect cymunedol hwn yn bosibl
trwy roddion hael gan sefydliadau lleol, ac unigolion preifat,
lleol a thu hwnt.
Gwnaed y gwaith gan engrafwr llechi, Malcolm Gray, o Weithdy
Llechi Glasfryn, Ty Ddewi.

The
Eglwyswrw War Memorial has now been extended
to include four more names. Three of these men died after the
war had ended, but their deaths were due to injuries or illnesses
relating to their war time military service and this is now recognized
by Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC).
The work was paid for from a fund raised to install a Remembrance
Seat near the War Memorial at St Cristiolus Church, Eglwyswrw
to mark the centenary of the end of World War One. This community
project was made possible by generous donations from local organizations,
and private individuals, local, and further afield.
The work was carried
out by St Davids slate engraver, Malcolm Gray, of Glasfryn Slate
Workshop.

Society wish to make clear, the Memorial projects in the village,
though initiated by the Society are very much community projects,
without the help that we have received, financially and in many
other ways we would not have been able to complete the work. There
are too many to name, but the Society are very grateful to you
all.
We make an exception in thanking Steven John of West Wales War
Memorial Project who has been a tremendous help to us from the
start.
